Sherrone Moore states Bryce Underwood is 'as good as any high school quarterback' he has seen
Michigan signed the No. 1 recruit in the nation on Wednesday with Bryce Underwood making it official with the Wolverines. It’s been a huge deal in Ann Arbor since their flip of his commitment back two weeks ago and Sherrone Moore knows it too with what the maize & blue added with his signature.
Moore commented on what Michigan got during National Signing Day in Underwood while on ‘Andy & Ari On3’ on Thursday. They penned what he views as the best high school quarterback that he’s watched considering what all he can do at the position already.
“He’s as good as any high school quarterback I’ve seen play football,” Moore stated.
“From a throwing aspect? Throwing out of the pocket, dropping back. He hasn’t done much under center but wants to and can. From a running aspect? He can run it,” said Moore. “He can do everything you want. He’s super smart. He’s super intuitive. He’s got great touch. He’s got great, you know, arm strength and everything you want.”
Underwood, a native of Belleville, Michigan, is a Five-Star+ prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 1 QB and the No. 1 player out of the state.

Now, with him signed on, Underwood will eventually be the Wolverines’ QB1. It’s just a matter of when and how he develops once he arrives on campus.
“You know, obviously, it’s going to take time for him to learn,” Moore said. “We’ll have a process in place to get him prepared to play whenever he’s ready.”
There’s a ton of justified excitement with Underwood officially staying in-state to play in college. There’s then even more considering what he is now as a prospect and can eventually become as a player for Michigan.
“He’s as good as they come,” Moore said.
