Storage unit of former Michigan star, Dallas Cowboys rookie Mazi Smith sold with countless team items
A storage unit full of Michigan football player-exclusive gear — apparently once belonging to Wolverines defensive tackle Mazi Smith — now belongs to one Vincent Broadway, who purchases units and posts videos of his finds to TikTok. And this one was a treasure trove.
On top of a gun safe — a valuable item on its own — the storage unit was filled with boxes of Michigan apparel and Jordan-brand Michigan shoes that only players got. In the video, which also got shared on Twitter/X, Broadway claims he spent $1880 to get the contents of whatever was in the unit.
And while Smith isn’t explicitly identified in the video, Broadway states the unit belonged to a Michigan player who was selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Smith was the only Wolverine taken in the first round, selected No. 26 overall by the Dallas Cowboys.
The most valuable items in the storage unit appear to be the array of Jordan shoes, most of which are exclusive to Michigan players. That included game- and practice-worn Jordan 13 cleats in maize and blue, Wolverine-exclusive Jordan 12s and a pair of Michigan-colored Jordan 1 low tops. The Michigan Jordan 1 low tops are apparently one of around 250 pairs that were made.
On the resale value of the shoes, alone, Broadway can likely recoup his $1880 and profit beyond it. Broadway estimated in a second video of the storage unit that there could be around $20,000 worth of shoes. Many of the shoes depicted appeared to have never been worn or only lightly used.

Broadway also claimed there was a Michigan “playbook” in the locker, but it appeared to be workout or training notes that Smith or someone else took. The term “barbell RDL” (reverse deadlift) can be seen on one of the pages depicted, along with what look to be stick figure diagrams of various workouts or motions.
In the original video, Broadway promised further installments, including when he opens the gun safe in the storage unit. He has yet to post a video of that safe being cracked or its contents. Smith notably was charged with a non-violent felony concealed weapons crime in 2022, which was plead down to a misdemeanor as he avoided prison time.
And while it’s certainly unfortunate for Smith that this cache of his former possessions fell by the wayside and into Broadway’s lap, it’s probably safe to assume his first-round rookie salary makes up for it.
