2024 On3 top-40 RB Taylor Tatum visits Michigan
Longview (Texas) four-star running back Taylor Tatum is spending this weekend on an unofficial visit to Michigan. He shared photos from the trip Saturday night.
Tatum is the No. 79 overall prospect and No. 5 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 12 player in Texas.
On3 rates Tatum higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Tatum is the No. 36 overall player, No. 2 running back and No. 8 player in Texas.
““That offer meant a lot to me,” Tatum told EJ Holland of The Wolverine on Dec. 29. “Michigan is a high-profile school, and they are making the College Football Playoff consistently now. Coach (Mike) Hart said Coach (Jim) Harbaugh liked my film a lot, which was a blessing. It’s cool knowing that if I were to go to Michigan, I would play for Coach Hart, who had a lot of accolades and got a contract at the next level.”

What to know about Tatum’s recruitment
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound tailback holds 33 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a close race for Tatum’s commitment. Baylor has the best chance at 22.5%, while Texas A&M (19.7%) and Texas (16.9%) are not far behind.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
Tatum has an On3 NIL Valuation of $57K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
