2024 3-star DL Ted Hammond commits to Michigan
Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier three-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond announced his commitment to Michigan on Wednesday. He chose the Wolverines over offers from Iowa, Kentucky and Washington among others.
Hammond is the No. 365 overall prospect and No. 31 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Ohio.
The Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class now contains five players. They are Hammond, Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth four-star linebacker Mason Curtis, Avon (Ohio) four-star interior offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, Bellevue (Wash.) four-star tight end Hogan Hansen and Frankfurt (Germany) Choate Rosemary Hall interior offensive lineman Manuel Beigel.
“First off, I would like to thank God for all the opportunities, gifts, and talents that He has blessed me with,” Hammond wrote in a statement on Instagram. “I wouldn’t be in this position without him. Secondly, I would like to thank my family for being with me throughout this recruiting process by always supporting and loving me. I love you all. Lastly, I would like to thank my Coaches. Coach Specht, Coach T, Coach Wiles and Coach Brodbeck for pushing me to be the best version of myself everyday. Also, Coach Elston and Coach Harbaugh for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity. With that being said, I’m beyond blessed to commit to the University of (Michigan).”

A 6-foot-4, 265-pound defender, Hammond has visited Michigan twice. He was in Ann Arbor on Jan. 22 and Nov. 12 for unofficials.
Hammond has an On3 NIL Valuation of $9.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
