Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor took an official visit to Michigan last weekend for the Wolverines’ game against Maryland. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Wolverines have a close lead for Harbor’s commitment at 37.7%.

Multiple factors are impacting Harbor’s decision, including a school’s football and track programs, as well as its academics. At the moment, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons feels like Michigan is in a good spot as one of Harbor’s top choices.

Simmons acknowledged that South Carolina, who got an official visit from Harbor earlier this month, is “making a lot of buzz.” However, he added that Michigan has been one of his favorites for Harbor since the five-star started taking visits in the summer of 2021.

“If you follow the recruiting and Harbor’s recruitment, you know his mother, who has ties to Michigan, loves that program, loves the academics, loves the culture for her son,” Simmons said The Inside Scoop, On3’s recruiting show. “And now getting the father, the dad, on board in Ann Arbor as well and seeing the presentation Michigan had to present to them as a family, I think definitely has Michigan in a good spot not just for Nyck, but just his overall family, his siblings. I think he feels good in that culture and that surrounding and just the overall what Michigan has to offer from a top academic public school to the great football and track program.”

Harbor is the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 1 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Washington D.C.

Nyckoles Harbor On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Nyckoles Harbor:

“Has the best combination of size and speed we’ve seen from a young prospect as a national-level sprinter at 6-foot-5 and over 230 pounds. Runs under 10.4 seconds in the 100 meters with the size and length of a premier pass rushing prospect. Plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school, but has developed into more of an EDGE prospect as a junior. Shows his considerable athleticism as a pass rusher with high end closing speed. Is also able to locate and track the ball as a tight end. Still unrefined technically as a pass rusher. Productive against sub-par competition.”

Harbor has an On3 NIL Valuation of $330K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
