WATCH: Blake Corum guarantees College Football Playoff title next year during halftime vs. Nebraska basketball

Michigan running back Blake Corum has been one of the tailbacks in all of college football the past two seasons for the Wolverines, pounding and pummeling his way to 2,415 yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground. He’s played a critical role in propelling the Wolverines to back-to-back Big Ten championships, back-to-back wins over the Ohio State Buckeyes, and back-to-back berths in the College Football Playoffs. The gifted tailback made quite the splash when he decided to not enter the 2023 NFL Draft and return to Ann Arbor for one final season. On Wednesday night, Corum decided to speak to the Wolverine faithful at halftime of the Nebraska-Michigan game and make a bold claim.
Check out the video below.
He told fans at the Crisler Center, “Man it feels good to be back!” Then, he decided to make a bold, bold claim. “We’re gonna win the national championship and go down in history,” Corum said. The Michigan football players then tossed out t-shirts to the crowd at the Nebraska game.
It’s always nice to tell fans that you’re going to win a national championship, the problem is those promises are very rarely fulfilled. Until further notice, the Georgia Bulldogs are the kings of the college football world. Any talk of a national championship begins and ends with them.
Corum began his career at Michigan in 2020 as the No. 11 running back and No. 117 overall player in the class according to On3 Consensus. He was ranked was the No. 6 recruit out of Maryland coming out of St. Frances Academy (Laurel, Maryland).

In his first season in a starring role, Corum finished with 952 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns, helping Michigan get to their first College Football Playoff appearance.
That set high expectations for Blake Corum entering his third season with the Wolverines in 2022, as he was considered one of the top running back prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft. He didn’t disappoint, capturing Heisman buzz before suffering a knee injury that ended his season. The gifted tailback finished with 1,463 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns.
All that sets up for Blake Corum to return as one of college football’s best running backs once again. It’ll be interesting to see if he can actually fulfill his promise to Michigan fans.
