WATCH: Incredible interception by Michigan DB DJ Turner II
Michigan is in the drivers seat and cruising against Northwestern early in the first quarter. Up 27-7, Wolverines defensive back DJ Turner II came up with this incredible interception.
On 2nd-and-10 to start the fourth quarter, Turner showed excellent concentration, tipping the ball twice to himself for an interception of Northwestern quarterback Ryan Hilinski.
Michigan, sitting at 6-0 is now staring down an undefeated matchup with Michigan State in week 9 as the Wolverines sit in full control against Northwestern. After a scoreless first quarter by both teams, Michigan got rolling in the second and third quarter, including a 17-point explosion in the third quarter.
The Wolverines’ defense has been as stifling as ever, limiting Northwestern to just 189 total yards with a quarter to play, including just 75 rushing yards. The Wolverines have forced two turnovers, the interception by Turner as well as a fumble.
Offensively, quarterback Cade McNamara had an efficient showing, completing 19 of 26 pass attempts for 121 yards. On the ground, Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins have over 100 yards and two touchdowns apiece.

Michigan’s marching band used its halftime performance on Saturday to troll Big Ten rival Ohio State. The band lined up to look like a person playing beer pong. Then, a large ping pong ball with Ohio State’s logo appeared, missing the “cups.” Shortly after that, another ball with Michigan’s logo on it went into the cup.
Ohio State is currently 5-1 on the season. Michigan is 6-0. When the two teams face off to wrap up the regular season in late November, it is possible that a trip to the College Football Playoff is on the line.
Even though the two teams don’t face off for over a month, Michigan’s band is already trying to build intrigue for the important game against Ohio State.
