Why Michigan should act fast if Jim Harbaugh leaves to NFL
Jim Harbaugh flirted with the NFL for quite a bit last offseason. And after Michigan won the national title, many people across the college football and NFL worlds are wondering the same question as last offseason. What will Jim Harbaugh do?
He still hasn’t officially made a decision. It will certainly be one of the most fascinating and talked about coaching decisions once again. On3’s Pete Nakos joined Andy Staples On3 on Sunday evening and said that Michigan better act fast if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL.
“Yeah, the part of the calendar year we’re at does not really help Michigan. Especially if they have an exodus,” he said. “Right. Like 30 guys, 40 guys in and they need to fill spots. So, yeah, if I’m Michigan, I’m telling Jim Harbaugh if you make a decision, just let us know. Because we’re gonna get Sherrone Moore in your office as quickly as possible.”
The biggest obstacle for the Michigan coaching staff would be trying to build a roster from the transfer portal, in such a very limited amount of time.
“Look at what Deion Sanders did at Colorado, right” Nakos continued. “He built a roster through the transfer portal. I’m sure if Deion was on this show right now he’d tell you that he couldn’t build a roster in two weeks in the spring transfer portal window. And Michigan wouldn’t like to do that either.”

Jim Harbaugh will interview with the LA Chargers
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh will interview with the Los Angeles Chargers this week, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Previously, Rapoport reported the two sides would set up a meeting. Now it looks like the interview is officially coming since both parties have mutual interest.
Fresh off a national championship win, Harbaugh could finally return to the NFL.
“His sweepstakes are heating up right now, sources tell me and colleague Tom Pelissero that Harbaugh is set to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers this week,” Rapoport said. “That is his first NFL interview this cycle. Remember over the course of the last couple years he’s met with the Broncos, met with the Vikings.
“My understanding is there’s some mutual interest here between Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers. It would make the most sense for him of any of the openings but obviously we will see that’s where he goes or if Michigan continues their fight to keep him. That is something they are trying to do.”
