Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson in locker room early against TCU
JJ McCarthy and the Michigan offense are off to a tough start in the passing game, not getting much going over the opening three drives. The quarterback is just one for four with nine yards, including a pick-six to get the scoring going for TCU.
Those nine yards belong to Roman Wilson from a receiving perspective. However, he has not seen the field since, appearing to be in pain on the sideline after the play. ESPN color commentator Todd Blackledge then announced Wilson was in the locker room but did not provide any specific injury.
“We should note, also, Roman Wilson — caught the ball on that first possession, got hurt,” Blackledge said. “He’s in the locker room so they’re playing without one of their better starting receivers in the game right now.”
On3’s The Wolverine has since reported that Wilson is out of the locker room and standing on the Michigan sideline. He has made his way onto the field as well.
Wilson would have been a major loss for Michigan, being the team’s fourth-leading receiver. He has been a staple in the offense alongside McCarthy, recording 272 yards and three touchdowns in just 11 of 13 games played.

While most of his production came early in the season, there would be no better time to show up than Saturday afternoon.
Instead, Wilson is back on the field hoping to help the Wolverines’ passing game. Already down by two touchdowns, McCarthy will have to make some plays to close out the first half and reassess on the other side of the break.
Michigan is usually a team looking to get off to fast starts and not playing from behind. There will be a few things to fix in order to get back into the Fiesta Bowl, with a spot in the College Football Playoff national championship on the line.
