Will Johnson, Colston Loveland injury updates: Sherrone Moore addresses status of Michigan stars
Ahead of The Game in Columbus this weekend, Sherrone Moore had the latest on two of the best players for Michigan in CB Will Johnson and TE Colston Loveland.
However, Moore didn’t have too much based on what he said about Johnson and Loveland during his press conference on Monday. He said they’d see about the pair of Wolverines over the course of this week while noting that Loveland is headed the right way to play.
“Yeah, we’ll see,” said Moore to the media yesterday.
“I think, you know, Colston is trending in a good direction. We’ll get a better feel in the next couple days. Same thing with Will.”
Johnson, one of the best corners in all of college football, has missed the last four games for Michigan. His absence has been due to a toe injury but the team had been expecting that he’d be back prior to the end of the season. However, with just the season finale left this weekend, his status is still in question.
In his five appearances this year, Johnson has posted 14 tackles, three deflections, and a pair of interceptions that went back for pick-sixes.

Loveland has then been in the lineup for the maize & blue but did miss the rest of their game against Northwestern on Saturday after suffering what looked to be a shoulder injury in the first half while catching a touchdown in the win.
Loveland finished that game with the score from three catches for a total of 22 yards. That still has him even further ahead as the leading pass-catcher this fall for the Wolverines with 56 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns.
Michigan would obviously really like and need to have players like Johnson and Loveland on the field against No. 2 Ohio State in The Shoe on Saturday. Still, Moore says they won’t know more about either of their designations for the game until later on in the week.
“We’ll see,” said Moore.
