Michigan freshman pitcher Zach Slayden enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Michigan pitcher Zach Slayden entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The freshman pitcher will look elsewhere after one season.
Slayden made 15 appearances during the 2024 season and pitched 10.2 innings in the spring. He ended the season with four strikeouts and pitched a season-high 1.1 scoreless innings against Western Michigan on April 9th.
Slayden played his high school baseball at Tomball (Texas) High.

Slayden was the latest domino to fall in the transfer portal following a baseball season. Michigan’s ended in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals in a loss to Penn State.

Sooners get double punishment
They fell 7-6 to Penn State in 10 innings in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals on Saturday (May 25) at Charles Schwab Field.
Tied at five after nine innings, the game went into the 10th and the Nittany Lions capitalized immediately. A leadoff single was followed by a two-run home run to put PSU ahead 7-5. Mitch Voit hit a two-out homer in the bottom of the inning, but U-M was unable to come up with another run.
