On3 4-star LB Brady Pretzlaff decommits from Minnesota
Gaylord (Mich.) linebacker Brady Pretzlaff has decommitted from Minnesota, he announced on social media.
“After a lot of conversation with family and time spent in prayer, I have decided to decommit from the University of Minnesota,” Pretzlaff said. “I want to thank the Minnesota coaches and fans for believing in me.”
Pretzlaff originally committed to the Gophers last January. He took an official visit to Michigan State last week.
Pretzlaff is the nation’s No. 544 overall prospect and No. 49 linebacker in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Pretzlaff significantly higher than other major recruiting services. He is a four-star recruit — the No. 220 overall prospect and No. 13 linebacker in the 2024 On300.

“I think Coach Smith has a great vision for the future of MSU and is a genuine coach,” Preztlaff told SpartanMag about his official visit to East Lansing. “I am going to be honest I really like Coach Smith’s way of coaching and plan for the future.”
“The way he talked about recruiting in-state, his focus on development, and the new mindset of low ego, high output, all stood out to me. I think that is more Dantonio era thinking and I really think that is a great thing for Michigan State.”
