Savage (Minn.) Prior Lake four-star defensive lineman Jide Abasiri decommitted from Minnesota.

Abasiri had been committed to the Golden Gophers since March 2023, when he chose them over Missouri, Kansas, Iowa State, Washington, Kansas State, and Central Michigan.

“After a long talk and consideration with my family I have decided to decommit from the University of Minnesota,” Abasiri wrote on social media. “Thank you to all the coaches at Minnesota for helping and believing in me.”

Abasiri is the No. 516 overall prospect and No. 49 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Minnesota.
