Four-star Starkville (Miss.) wide receiver Braylon Burnside has decommitted from Mississippi State, he announced on Monday.

Burnside had been committed to the Bulldogs since June, when he chose them over Ole Miss and a handful of other offers.

The 6-foot, 195-pounder is the No. 245 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“I would like to thank Mississippi State and the entire coaching staff for the love and support throughout the entire process,” he wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank the hometown for the loyalty and love that you all showed me. I have been committed to Mississippi state since June 2023. I’ve dreamed about playing in Davis Wade Stadium for a long time, but God has another plan. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am decommitting from Mississippi State and reopening my recruitment. I will not take any further comments until I have further clarity into my future. I ask that you please respect my family and I during this time. Thank you all and God Bless.”
