On3 3-star OT Amari Smith commits to Mississippi State
Brookhaven (Miss.) three-star offensive tackle Amari Smith announced his commitment to Mississippi State on Saturday night. He announced the news over social media.
Smith is not ranked in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is 6-foot-7 and weighs 295 pounds.
On3 rates Smith higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Smith is a three-star recruit, the No. 51 offensive tackle and No. 17 player in Mississippi.
The Bulldogs’ 2023 recruiting class now contains 20 commitments. Mississippi State’s group ranks No. 29 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the SEC.

Head coach Mike Leach and his staff have pledges from five offensive tackles. They are Smith, Tupelo (Miss.) three-star Zay Alexander, Nashville (Tenn.) Franklin Road Academy three-star offensive tackle Joe Crocker, Laurel (Miss.) three-star Malik Ellis and Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest three-star Jayden Hobson.
Of Mississippi State’s commitments, two are four-star recruits. Gainesville (Fla.) F. W. Buchholz wide receiver Creed Whittemore and Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood quarterback Chris Parson are rated in the top 400 of the On3 Consensus.
The Bulldogs also have three pledges in the top 500 of the On3 Consensus. They are Bay Springs (Miss.) three-star athlete Ty Jones, Snellville (Ga.) Shiloh three-star cornerback Brice Pollock and Hattiesburg (Miss.) three-star linebacker Tabias Hinton.
