2024 ATH Caleb Dozier decommits from Mississippi State
Headland (Ala.) School three-star athlete Caleb Dozier has decommitted from Mississippi State, he announced on Friday.
Dozier had been committed to the Bulldogs since April, when he chose them over offers from UCF, Georgia Tech and a handful of other programs.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for putting me in the position I am in today!” he wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank all of Mississippi State coaches for taking the time to recruit me and for being good to me during the process. With that being said after a lot of thought, I have decommited from Mississippi State.”
His departure comes after the firing of Bulldogs head coach Zach Arnett last month — MSU has since hired Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby to replace him.

Dozier projects to play linebacker at the next level. As a senior, he did it all for Headland School, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns and hauling in 47 receptions for 817 yards and 10 scores. On defense, he notched 122 total tackles, including 29 TFLs, to go along with 11 sacks.
With his decommitment, Mississippi State is now down to 16 commitments in the 2024 cycle, and the Bulldogs class ranks No. 34 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
