By the time Dak Prescott was done playing at Mississippi State, he was arguably the best quarterback in the program’s history. Since then, he’s gone on to quarterback the Dallas Cowboys but has kept an eye on the Bulldogs as much as he possibly can.

Now, Prescott has a message for Mississippi State as the college football season is about to get started. He’ll be repping his college colors on Friday, September 1st, and he wants the entire Mississippi State community to join him.

Watch Dak Prescott send a message to Mississippi State fans, here:

“What’s up, Bulldog family?” Dak Prescott said. “Tomorrow is college colors day, September the first, so you know what I’ll be repping — the great Mississippi State. So, I encourage my other Bulldog family out there to join me and pregame Maroon Friday the right way and all the Saturdays in Starkvegas. Hail State!”

Prescott, who is getting ready for his eighth NFL season, all of which have been in Dallas, filmed the video from the Cowboys’ team facilities while already wearing some of his Mississippi State gear.

During his time in Starkville, Dak Prescott put up phenomenal numbers. He had a career 62.8 completion percentage for 9,376 yards and 70 touchdowns. He was just as effective on the ground, rushing for 2,521 career yards and 41 touchdowns. During his time there, Mississippi State had several phenomenal seasons, even going to the Orange Bowl.

2023 represents the start of a new era at Mississippi State. Zach Arnett is taking over as head coach for the late Mike Leach. With that, the Bulldogs are going to have a change to their style of play coming into their Week 1 opener against Southeastern Louisiana.

Dak Prescott explained turning down Netflix’s “Quarterback” series

This offseason, Netflix provided football fans with a documentary series called “Quarterback,” which dove into three different quarterbacks’ seasons. One quarterback, however, who was missing, was Dak Prescott. As the signal-caller for the Dallas Cowboys, he seemingly would have made sense for the series. However, it’s that status that made Prescott not want to do the show.

“I get enough media,” Prescott said. “This team gets enough coverage.”

In the end, Dak Prescott wasn’t the only one who turned down the series. Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears also turned it down. He also wanted to avoid the extra media becoming a distraction. So, in the end, Marcus Mariota, Kirk Cousins, and Patrick Mahomes starred in the show.
