EA Sports ranks Mississippi State's Davis Wade Stadium as No. 25 in Toughest Places to Play rankings
On Tuesday, EA Sports released its Toughest Places to to Play Rankings based on the ratings from the highly-anticipated EA Sports College Football 25 video game. Mississippi State‘s Davis Wade Stadium fell at No. 25 on the list.
EA Sports did not take its task lightly. The company considered numerous factors to create its rankings, including historical stats such as home winning percentage, home game attendance, active home winning streaks, team prestige and more.
Davis Wade Stadium boasts a 60,311-person capacity. The stadium saw its record-attendance on Oct. 11, 2014, when the Bulldogs defeated Auburn 38-23 at home.
While Davis Wade is not the largest stadium in the country, it’s one of the loudest. MSU fans rattle opposing team with the deafening sound of thousands of cowbells — one of the most famous traditions in college football.
Meanwhile, an American Kennel Club-registered English bulldog, given the inherited title of “Bully,” watches from the sidelines while Mississippi State attempts to dominate its foe. After a particularly exciting play, a rendition of “Hail State” will break out in the crowd, reminding the Bulldogs who they’re playing for.
Of course, fans will easily be able to enjoy the instant replay on Mississippi State’s 6,896 square-foot high-definition video board, which is the 10th-largest in college football. Despite MSU’s modern renovations, Davis Wade Stadium is the second-oldest stadium in the FBS, only behind Georgia Tech‘s Bobby Dodd Stadium.
