Florida State QB transfer Luke Kromenhoek commits to Mississippi State
Florida State quarterback transfer Luke Kromenhoek has committed to Mississippi State out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Kromenhoek was in Starkville over the weekend on his visit, and the Bulldogs program appears to have had a lasting impact on the transfer quarterback. He’ll now look to be the quarterback of the future for Mississippi State in 2025.
Kromenhoek appeared in six games for Florida this season, including two starts. His late-season production came after issues with DJ Uiagalelei and Brock Glenn forced FSU to reach for Kromenhoek’s services within the depth chart by season’s end.
With those snaps, Kromenhoek went 44-84 (52.4%) for 502 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. During those two starts for FSU, he was 28-48 (58.3%) for 349 yards and all three of his passing scores with each of them coming in their 41-7 win over Charleston Southern.
Prior to that, Kromenhoek, a Savannah, Georgia native, played high school football at Benedictine Military School. He was the No. 45 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2024 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He also rated as the No. 6 player in the state and the No. 4 QB in the class behind only Florida’s DJ Lagway, Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, and Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola.
The portal officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.
That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
