Former Vanderbilt tight end Justin Ball commits to Mississippi State

Former Vanderbilt tight end Justin Ball is staying in the SEC following his decision to transfer. On Sunday, he announced his commitment to Mississippi State with a post on Twitter.

Ball has been with the Commodores since 2019. He didn’t play as a freshman, but starting in the 2020 season, he became a key piece of the Vanderbilt offense and has now played in 38 games, including every game of the last two seasons. During that time, he snagged 22 receptions for 204 yards and a touchdown, with the lion’s share of that production occurring this fall.

Ball played high school football at Gonzaga (DC), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,707 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
