4-star safety Isaac Smith stays home, commits to Mississippi State
Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural four-star safety Isaac Smith has committed to Mississippi State, which beat out LSU among other teams.
“This decision was most definitely the hardest I have to make for sure,” Smith told On3. “I’m blessed to be where I am because I know life is gonna carry a lot more obstacles that holds hard decisions.”
Smith is the No. 189 overall prospect and No. 4 player from Mississippi in the 2023 On3 Consensus. He is now the top commit in the Bulldogs recruiting class, too.

His signing is a major win for Mississippi State, which signed one of the state’s top four commits in the last three cycles.
“I chose Mississippi State for the fact that you know just being able to stay home play for my state, represent and just be the next great Mississippi player is powerful,” Smith said, “With my personality I just see myself going there and thriving — which i could see myself doing at the other schools — but Mississippi State was the school my heart told me to go to in the end.”
