Mississippi State football will be wearing these helmets to honor their national championship baseball team. Last year the Bulldogs shocked the college baseball world by beating college baseball powerhouse Vanderbilt. This is the first-ever national championship won by the university. Their baseball team made 11 College World Series appearances before finally cashing in on their 12th one in the summer.

The commemoration of Mississippi State’s first-ever college championship will not be limited to just the helmets. Members of the Bulldogs championship team will receive their rings this Saturday as the Bulldogs take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Not only that but this week is Mississippi states homecoming. so, the pressure will be on their football team to come away with the victory.

A crazy season for the Bulldogs

The Mississippi State-run defense has been very, very good all season long. They’re currently only allowing 93 rushing yards per game, ranking 11th in the nation in that category. The Bulldogs have been a very inconsistent team in 2021, but welcome to college football this season. This year has been as wild and as unpredictable as it’s ever been.

The Bulldogs are fresh from another victory against Vanderbilt, but their football team did it in a much more convincing fashion. Mississippi State won the game 45-6 behind a solid performance from Will Rogers. The sophomore quarterback threw for 384 yards on 41 of 57 passing attempts. He also added on four touchdown passes, but they threw two interceptions in the game. Their defense held the Commodores to just 155 yards of total offense and 1 of 11 on third downs. This was an impressive bounce back when for the Bulldogs after receiving similar treatment at the hands of Alabama the week prior.

Their opponent in this week’s game Kentucky will also be rocking a sweet uniform combination. The Wildcats are fresh off of nearby and looking to redeem themselves. Before their week off they ran into the buzz saw that is the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and fell 30-13 in that game. Kentucky is still ranked No. 12 in the nation and will look to keep their impressive season going.

While the Wildcat uniforms are nice looking, they have apparently brought bad luck under head coach Mark Stoops. The Wildcats are just 5-17 when donning the white jerseys and blue pants under Stoops. That is easily the worst of any uniform under the talented head coach. The Bulldogs will look to continue the Wildcats string of bad luck in these uniforms and secure the victory in honor of their school’s first-ever championship.
