Mississippi State CB Khamauri Rogers plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Rogers logged one tackle for the Bulldogs during the 2024 college football season before opting to hit the portal.

He is a former four-star recruit who starter his career at Miami. Rogers tallied one tackle for the Canes in his redshirt freshman season before arriving in Starkville. Now, he’s on the move again heading into the 2025 offseason.

Rogers played high school football at Lexington (Miss.) Holmes County, where he was a four-star prospect, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 165 player in the 2022 class and No. 20 cornerback during that cycle.

The news of Rogers’ plan to transfer away from the program comes the day after fellow cornerback Brice Pollock did the same. Pollach, a sophomore, will have two years of eligibility remaining. He has 72 career tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble. He has 11 career pass breakups, too.

Mississippi State finished the season 2-10 under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby. The Bulldogs finished dead last in the SEC standings after failing to win a single game in conference play. Now, it appears that Lebby’s staff will need to rebuild their secondary this offseason.

The portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers.

That means roughly 25 percent of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
