Mississippi State center Jeremy Foumena entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He originally began his college career at Rhode Island.

Foumena saw reduced playing time this past season with the Bulldogs. As a freshman with Rhode Island, he played in 28 games and finished with 5.3 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 52.5% from the floor.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Foumena was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his high school basketball at Orangeville Prep (Montreal, QC).

Jeremy Foumena latest Mississippi State player to enter portal

Foumena was the latest player from Mississippi State to enter the transfer portal. Michael Nwoko previously went in and just committed to LSU.

Louisiana State had been in connection with Nwoko early on after entering the portal. On3’s Jamie Shaw reported as much the day after he went in.

Nwoko has spent two seasons at two schools in Miami and Mississippi State. He has averaged 4.5 points (53.5% FG) and 3.4 rebounds in that collegiate career so far over 63 games with the Hurricanes and Bulldogs. He improved on those numbers as a sophomore as State’s starting center with stats of 6.1 points (52.5% FG) and 4.6 rebounds.
