Mississippi State DL Jordan Davis likely OUT for remainder ReliaQuest Bowl vs Illinois
Mississippi State football is down one of its defensive playmakers for the second half of its ReliaQuest Bowl game against Illinois. In the first half, senior defensive end Jordan Davis went down with a left knee injury and had to be helped off the field and back to the locker room.
Out of halftime, ESPN sideline reporter Tiffany Blackmon had updates from new head MSU coach Zach Arnett, who disclosed the latest on the Davis injury.
Per Blackmon: “He did give me an update, though, on defensive lineman Jordan Davis, who we saw injure that left knee during the first half. He said he’s probably going to be out, guys. So a big blow to that defensive line today.”
There you have it. Barring some unforeseen development, Jordan Davis’ year and Mississippi State career is over as he bows out of the Illinois game with an injury. Hopefully it’s nothing that will jeopardize his potential professional future.

Mississippi State honors Mike Leach at bowl game
Mississippi State has decided to honor late head coach Mike Leach in one of the most fitting ways possible, on a pirate ship.
Ahead of the ReliaQuest Bowl, which is played at Raymond James Stadium, the Bulldogs showed off their tribute to Mike Leach. A portrait of the coach, along with a flower arrangement was placed on the landmark pirate ship within the stadium. The captain is on deck.
