Mississippi State receiver Caleb Ducking was turning heads this fall camp for the Bulldogs. It didn’t take long for the playmaker some big catches in his team’s Week 1 matchup against the Memphis Tigers. He hauled in three catches for 73 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ blowout victory over Memphis on Saturday night. One of them was a beautifully plucked 35-yard touchdown catch that perfectly hit his outstretched hands in stride. With a last name like Ducking, he decided to have some fun and do the duck dance with his teammates.
Check it out.
Last season as a redshirt junior, Ducking hauled in nine catches for 83 receiving yards. He played his first two seasons of college football at Holmes Community College (Mississippi). Coming out of South Delta High School (Rolling Fork, Mississippi), Ducking was rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 74 receiver in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2018 cycle. His senior year of high school football, he hauled in 44 catches for 1,186 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
The touchdown to Ducking on Saturday night was a beautifully placed football by one of the most surgically accurate quarterbacks in all of college football, Will Rogers. He completed 38 of his 49 passing attempts for 450 yards through the air, while tossing in five touchdowns and just one interception.
