Mississippi State tight end Jacarius Clayton plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Mississippi State tight end Jacarius Clayton plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he announced Monday afternoon via Twitter. He did not catch a pass or occupy much of a role in the MSU offense during his time in Starkville.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Clayton played high school ball in Tupelo, Mississippi, a town known for its Tupelo Trees and the honey produced from its flowers, which became the inspiration for a 1971 hit song and accompanying album by Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, appropriately named Tupelo Honey. You won’t regret it!
Clayton was a terrific player for the Golden Wave at Tupelo High School, where he was a three-star recruit in the 2022 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also rated the No. 446 overall prospect and the No. 12 player out of Mississippi and also specialized as an EDGE on the other side of the ball back then.
