WATCH: Mississippi State unveils new uniforms ahead of matchup vs Bowling Green

This week, Will Rogers and company will look to get back on track against the Bowling Green Falcons. The Bulldogs will be rolling out some new uniforms on Saturday to honor two Mississippi State legends, Frank Dowsing and Robert Bell. The tandem became the first two black players to suit up for the Bulldogs back in 1969 and 1970.

Dowsing is a member of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. During his time with the Bulldogs, he was named to the All-SEC first team as a defensive back from 1971-1972. An accomplished student as well, Dowsing was one of only two MSU athletes to ever receive the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award in 1972. He’s also referred to as the “Jackie Robinson of Mississippi” because of the role he played in pioneering the transition to integrated public schools in the state of Mississippi.
