The Mississippi State Bulldogs are preparing to face off against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday night. Tonight’s game will be the first game for Auburn with former Tiger great “Cadillac” Williams acting as their interim head coach. Bulldogs’ quarterback Will Rogers will also attempt to finally break Dak Prescott’s all-time passing touchdown record. Check out the uniforms Mississippi State will be wearing on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs have the helmet stickers on the back to honor their teammate, Sam Westmoreland, who tragically passed away a few weeks ago. The Bulldogs also unveiled on Saturday that they will be honoring Westmoreland with a “SW 78” logo on their home field.

Mississippi State will be wearing helmets with the word “State” spelled out in cursive. The helmets have a throwback feel to them, for sure. Then, they’ll be donning the maroon jerseys with the white letters and numbers.

Bulldogs quarterback Will Rogers will attempt to make school history on Saturday night against the Tigers

As mentioned above, Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers will attempt to shatter Dak Prescott’s school passing touchdown record of 70 touchdown passes. Before Saturday night’s game, Rogers is currently tied with Prescott, and he only needs one more touchdown pass to break it. He also only needs 106 passing yards against Auburn to break Prescott’s career passing yardage record (9,376 yards). While the football flies in the air quite often in Bulldogs’ head coach Mike Leach’s “Air Raid” scheme, it’s still impressive that Rogers will break both records in just his third year as a starter in Starkville.

Mississippi State struggled mightily last weekend against the Alabama Crimson Tide and were throttled 30-6. Quarterback Will Rogers had easily his worst performance of the 2022 campaign, only completing 30 of his 60 pass attempts for 231 yards, while tossing no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Mississippi State and Auburn will face off on Saturday night at 7:30 PM EST. The Bulldogs are currently listed as 12.5 favorites for the game, which will take place in Starkville, Mississippi.
