Purdue transfer DL Sulaiman Kpaka commits to Mississippi State
Former Purdue defensive lineman Sulaiman Kpaka has committed to Mississippi State, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Kpaka spent five seasons with Purdue, tallying 26 total appearances. In the 2023 campaign, Kpaka amassed 10 tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. In 2022, Kpaka collected 19 tackles, .5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Kpaka did not play his true freshman season and used his redshirt. In 2020, he appeared in a mere two games. Kpaka also failed to play in a game in 2021. The graduate transfer will have two years of eligibility remaining, assuming he uses his COVID year.
Kpaka played high school football at Grand Prairie (TX), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,282 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Kpaka is only one piece of Mississippi State’s new look next season. The program will be led by former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby in the 2024 campaign. Lebby is already making his presence known on the recruiting trail.
