4-star CB Charles Bass commits to Missouri
East St. Louis (Ill.) four-star cornerback Charles Bass has committed to Missouri.
He chose the Tigers over a list of 10 other contenders, which included Arkansas, Cincinnati, Illinois, Kansas, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas A&M.
Mizzou is a program that has been consistently mentioned in Bass’ recruitment. He’s made his way to Columbia multiple times this year and was a coveted target for Eli Drinkwitz and the in-state Tigers.
“What stands out most to me about Missouri is how it feels like home,” Bass said. “It is close to home and it really feels that way. I have a great connection with the coaches. Most of the coaches know me, they talk to me a lot and even coach (Eliah Drinkwitz) communicates with me.”

“He is a cool guy,” Bass added of Drinkwitz. “I like talking to him. We talk about a lot of things, we joke around and he makes sure I know that he wants me. He called me when they were practicing for the Ohio State game to make sure I knew I was on his mind. His interest in me means a lot.”
Bass is the No. 351 overall prospect and No. 31 corner in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Illinois.
