4-star safety Trajen Greco commits to Missouri: 'It is about the brotherhood and culture'
Trajen Greco grew up playing basketball thinking hoops was his future. That was then. The versatile athlete always loved football too and he has grown into a four-star safety who just announced his commitment to Missouri at the All-American Bowl.
“It is about the brotherhood and the culture at Missouri,” Greco told On3. “The program is strong, the coaches made me feel wanted and needed and Missouri is the school I felt best about.”
It wasn’t always that way. Greco was at one time committed to Georgia Tech. The local program got on the Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek defender early. Then Missouri came in with an offer on Halloween, the Tigers got Greco on campus for the Florida game and the SEC program starting gaining momentum from there.
“As soon as I stepped foot on campus in Columbia, I loved it. Everyone around there made it feel like home. The people were welcoming, respectful and I immediately felt like part of the family. It wasn’t just the coaches, but the players, the trainers and just the people. Everyone there wants their guys to succeed and I felt that.”

Greco committed to Missouri over Georgia Tech and USC.
Greco is excited to play in the SEC
Not long after that first visit to Columbia, Greco decommitted from the Yellow Jackets. By the end of November, the No. 252 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings knew he wanted to be a Tiger. He took his official visit in December, signed with Missouri on Dec. 20 and is excited about his future.
“I always dreamed of playing SEC ball,” Greco said. “You play against the best of the best in the SEC. No disrespect to the ACC or any other conference, but in my opinion, if you want to do great things and go on to the next level, SEC ball is where it is at.
“It is about competition for me and the SEC is the best. Missouri will push me, I will compete hard and I will go against the best in the SEC, so that was a factor in my decision.”
