5-star WR Ryan Wingo visits Missouri ahead of commitment
St. Louis (Mo.) University High five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo locked in an Oct. 25 commitment date earlier this week. Ahead of his decision, the elite prospect is making one more stop at an in-state finalist.
Wingo is back in Columbia as Missouri takes on South Carolina on Saturday. Mizzou is officially one of six finalists for the wideout, along with Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
Not only are the Tigers getting the chance to make one last in-person impression on Wingo, but they’re also likely heading into his commitment as the frontrunner. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Mizzou has a 74.3% chance to land the five-star’s pledge.
Wingo has made double-digit trips to see Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers. He took an official visit to Columbia this summer, watched the Tigers play Memphis in St. Louis and was also in attendance earlier this month when the hosted LSU.
“Missouri is my home-state school and it is close to home. I know a lot of people up there and their pitch to me is to stay home. It is close to St. Louis and the main message from the players and the coaches is to stay home and represent your city,” Wingo told On3’s Chad Simmons last month.

Wingo was originally planning to commit during the Early Signing Period in December, but the No. 25 overall prospect and No. 7 WR in the 2024 cycle — per the On3 Industry Ranking — will instead come off the board two months sooner.
“In the beginning, I thought this would happen on Dec. 20,” Wingo said. “I took visits, I have been to all of those schools and I just had a change of heart. I talked it over with my family and got that feeling, so I decided to commit sooner. This is happening earlier than I expected, but things just changed.”
Wingo has an On3 NIL Valuation of $228K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Ryan Wingo Scouting Summary
“An electric playmaker who picks up yards in a hurry. Ran a 10.64 100m, 21.46 200m and a 50.72 400m in 2022. The ability to defeat the angle with the ball in his hands is among the best in the 2024 cycle early on. Can take the top off of defenses with ease but is not just a straight line player. His ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and finish runs is rare for someone with his long speed. Has a chance to be an impact player at the next level. Older brother is former Arkansas running back Ronnie Wingo.”
