Brady Cook injury update: Missouri QB heads to locker room before end of first half
Missouri quarterback Brady Cook had to head to the locker room before the end of the first half on Saturday. The Tigers are taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide and currently trail 13-0 at halftime. Before exiting with the injury, Cook completed seven of twelve passes for 30 yards.
His teammates were giving him hugs and pats on the back and Cook did not have his helmet at the end of the first half. He’s been one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC the past few years and clearly, his absence would negatively impact the Tigers’ roster.
So far in 2024, he’s completed 63.1% of his passes for 1,545 passing yards, while tossing in seven touchdowns with one interception. Last year, Cook set career highs with 3,317 yards, 21 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 66.1% completion percentage. He also ran for 319 yards and eight touchdowns.

Cook put up very good numbers in his first full season as the starting quarterback for Missouri in 2022. He completed 64.8 percent of his throws for 2,739 passing yards, while tossing in 14 touchdowns with seven interceptions. As a runner, he also ran for 585 yards and six touchdowns. In 2021, Cook saw a limited amount of work, completing 79.3 percent of his passes for 345 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Missouri was thrashed by Alabama 34-0 on Saturday. Backup quarterback Drew Pyne played awful, completing 6 of 12 passes for 42 yards, while tossing three interceptions. The Missouri passing attack only managed 72 yards of total offense. They’ll have to hope Brady Cook gets healthy in the near future, because their offense will have a dramatic falloff moving forward without him.
