Eli Drinkwitz needed a great season at Missouri and has he ever found one with what the Tigers have accomplished this fall. Now, following their latest win, Drinkwitz is a wealthier man because of it.

Per Steve Berkowitz at USA Today, Drinkwitz added another $50,000 to his bonuses this season with Mizzou’s 33-31 win over Florida on Saturday. That brought his bonus total up to $150,000 for the Tiger’s current 9-2 record this season.

Again, this is, by far, Drinkwitz’ best campaign in CoMo. Over his first three seasons, Missouri went a combined 17-19. In 11 games in ’23, he has created half of that win total with the nine victories and a respectable pair of losses to LSU and at Georgia.

That record has placed the Tigers right in the conversation in the SEC and nationally. Mizzou currently sits behind only Georgia and Alabama and tied with Ole Miss for the best records in the Southeastern Conference. They’ve also earned their second-ever and highest overall rating for the College Football Playoff at No. 9.

Missouri’s season has been nothing short of fantastic in 2023. It’s not over yet, though, as Drinkwitz and the Tigers should finish with the program’s first double-digit win season and could earn their first bowl win, in what will likely be a quality bowl berth, since 2014.

Harrison Mevis does Gator Chomp after hitting game-winning field goal vs. Florida

Missouri K Harrison Mevis certainly knows how to market himself, considering the hefty specialist is nicknamed ‘The Thiccer Kicker.’ He might’ve found another viral moment for himself after driving home a game-winning field goal for Missouri in the final seconds on senior night.

After giving Missouri a 33-31 lead over Florida with fewer than :10 to play, Mevis celebrated with a few teammates before going back to the bench. And, as he did, he made sure to rub the Gators’ noses in it.

Mevis started to do the Gator Chomp, the famous vertical clap that Florida fans do to mimic an alligators lethal mandibles.

This was Mevis’ 22nd field goal of the season as he has gone 22-28 (78.6%) overall on the year. He has also made all but one extra point – 37-38 for a 97.4% mark – to give himself 103 points on the season.

This kick wasn’t Mevis’ only game-winner on the year either. He knocked in a record kick of 61 yards against Kansas State to help Missouri set the tone for their fantastic season with a 30-27 victory.
