Eli Drinkwitz ramps up Dan Mullen feud following Florida firing
Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz isn’t done trolling fired Florida head coach Dan Mullen after his squad’s 24-23 win on Saturday. Asked about the karma and irony involved in Mizzou’s victory after last year’s game involved a brawl, the Tigers’ skipper pointed at Mullen.
“My father-in-law was a farmer, and there’s an old saying you reap what you sow,” Drinkwitz said. “If you sow kindness, you reap kindness. If you sow jackass-ability, you reap jackass-ability.
“I’ve done my fair share of jabbing people and know it’ll come back to ya. I think it’s just kind of part of the game.”
After the brawl last season, which stemmed from a hit on former QB Kyle Trask, Dan Mullen received a $25,000 fine for his part in the scuffle.
The Florida Gators confirmed the firing of fourth-year head coach Mullen on Sunday afternoon. Over four seasons, he put together a 34-15 record, but finished just 13-10 in the last two seasons.
After their win, the Tigers are bowl eligible at 6-5. They take on Arkansas for the Borderline Rivalry trophy on Black Friday. Meanwhile, Florida’s last chance to reach six wins will come next Saturday against rival Florida State. The Gators are now led by interim head coach, running backs coach Greg Knox.

Drinkwitz trolls Mullen back with Star Wars bit
At the conclusion of Eli Drinkwitz’ postgame press conference, the head coach flipped up his hood, pulled a lightsaber out of nowhere, and declared, “May the force be with you.”
The coach then turned without saying another word and exited the room.
The move was a callback to when Dan Mullen showed up to last year’s press conference following a win against Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers dressed as Darth Vader. That happened after the brawl between the two teams, though Mullen claimed it was simply a pre-planned Halloween costume.
On Saturday, Florida kicked a field goal with 8:30 remaining in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 16 on Saturday. After neither team could put it away in regulation, it went to overtime. The Gators got the ball first, scoring on an Emory Jones touchdown pass.
Missouri answered with a score of its own, then opted to go for two to end the game. Connor Bazelak found Daniel Parker Jr. to convert the two-point conversion and clinch the victory.
