Florida linebacker transfer Ty’Ron Hopper is staying in the SEC.

Hopper, who re-entered the NCAA transfer portal this week, is set to transfer to Missouri, sources tell On3. The plan is for him to arrive on campus in the coming days.

Hopper, a top-65 overall recruit in the 2019 recruiting class, posted 65 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks as a redshirt sophomore at Florida last season.

There’s a family connection for Hopper with Missouri. His cousin, Tyrone (a former North Carolina linebacker), decided to join the Tigers as a transfer earlier this month.

Auburn, which recently hired former Florida linebackers coach Christian Robinson, had been another consideration for Hopper. However, Hopper wouldn’t have been able to enroll and join the team at Auburn until after the spring semester whereas he can enroll immediately at Missouri, a source told On3.
