Former Oklahoma State defensive lineman announces transfer destination
Recruiting has never been better for the Missouri Tigers under head coach Eliah Drinkwitz. He has been able to pull from the transfer portal as well and landed another important piece on Sunday.
Former Oklahoma State defensive lineman Jayden Jernigan announced he would be heading to the SEC to play for Missouri. He had been in Stillwater for three seasons, originally being a member of the 2019 recruiting class.
“Blessed with the life I lived…,” Jernigan said via Twitter Sunday night. “On to the Next!!
Jernigan entered the transfer portal on Dec. 15 and took less than a month to make his decision. The interior defensive lineman was not originally offered by the Tigers when Bary Odom was still the head coach.
Playing in 10 games this season, Jernigan was a member of one of the best defenses in the country under defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Jernigan recorded 22 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, and a forced fumble throughout the year.
Coming out of high school, Jernigan was a three-star recruit according to the On3 Consensus. He was a top 75 player from the state of Texas, ranking at No. 70.

One of the fan favorites for the Missouri Tigers is taking the next step in his football career. On Saturday, Missouri wide receiver D’ionte ‘Boo’ Smith announced he’s declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Smith detailed his decision to move on from the college ranks.
“I would like to start off by saying thank god for the blessing that he has placed upon me,” Smith wrote. “My decision to come to Mizzou was the best decision I made. I want to thank all the Mizzou fans for welcoming me these past two years. I’ve had great memories and made friends that I now call family.
“I want to thank coach Drinkwitz, coach Hamdan and the rest of the Mizzou staff for pushing me to overcome adversity. I also want to thank all my advisors for helping me excel with academic excellence. Words can’t describe how thankful I am for the blessings and opportunities that I have here for these past two years at Mizzou. From the fans yelling my name ‘BOOOOOOOO’ to the coaching staff helping me to become a better man to make my childhood dreams a reality. With all that being said …
