Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College defensive lineman Jae’Vien Gill has committed to Missouri, he announced on Monday.

Originally from Philadelphia, Mississippi, Gill signed with UCF last year, but entered the transfer portal in May before ever playing for the Knights. He then transferred to Southern Miss, where he stayed for less than a month before entering the transfer portal again.

He held offers this fall from Colorado, Coastal Carolina, San Diego State, South Florida, and UAB.

He wrote in his commitment announcement: “I appreciate every coach that has been recruiting me this far, but after talking to Coach Davis and the staff at Mizzou for a great length of time I would to announce my offer and 100% commitment to the University of Missouri.”

Gill graduated from Neshoba Central High School in 2019 and has been at Mississippi Gulf Coast for three seasons. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, junior college players were granted an extra year of eligibility at that level.
