On3 top-100 RB Kewan Lacy commits to Missouri
Lancaster (Texas) four-star running back Kewan Lacy has committed to Missouri, he announced on Thursday.
He chose the Tigers over Ole Miss and Alabama, who were the main contenders after he decommitted from Nebraska this fall.
“I love how they’re coming up right now,” Lacy previously told On3’s Sam Spiegelman after his visit to Columbia in November. “They have a lot of weapons and there, I can be a great weapon and I can build my own legacy over there. I can come in, play early and I would be surrounded by good people and really good coaches. I know Coach Loop (Curtis Luper) and I mess with Coach Drink a lot.”
Lacy joins a Mizzou class that ranks in the top 30 nationwide in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He is the fourth blue-chip prospect to pledge to the Tigers in addition to Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Williams Nwaneri, Hudson (Fla.) four-star defensive lineman Elias Williams and Jonesboro (Ark.) Valley View four-star linebacker Brian Huff.
On3 ranks Lacy higher than the rest of the industry
The Lancaster (Texas) High School do-it-all back was a major riser in the rankings during the mid-season On300 update. On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire had this to say about the electric runner and his play as a senior.

“Kewan Lacy has shown early on in his senior season that he can absolutely carry the load in the run game when he steps onto a college campus,” Bellaire wrote. “His ability to burst and accelerate through the hole while maintaining excellent body control and wiggle makes him a terror for opposing defenses. His leg drive and physicality essentially makes him a battering ram with the ball in his hands and being able to finish and run behind your pads at the next level is a very translatable skill.”
On3’s Sam Spiegelman was also on hand in Rockwall when Lacy’s season came to an end. Here are his observations from multiple live evaluations of the four-star RB.
“On3 top-100 RB Kewan Lacy has a diverse skill-set for the running back position and at 6-foot and 205 pounds, is a playmaker with three-down potential at the next level … Lacy’s season came an end in the second quarter with an ankle injury, but not before the 2024 RB made his mark as the centerpiece of the Lancaster (Texas) offense. As a runner, as a slot receiver, and as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, Lacy was dynamic with the ball in his hands. He’s got a suddenness to his running style, and is equally as impactful in and out of his cuts and running through contact. Lacy is an extremely gifted pass-catcher and also thrashing in between the tackles.”
On3 ranks Lacy higher than the rest of the major recruiting industry.
