Missouri gymnast Mara Titarsolej did something that’s nearly impossible to do in any sport on Friday evening. She was absolutely perfect. The Missouri women’s gymnast not only scored a perfect 10 on her bars routine, but it was the first 10 on bars in Tiger school history.

The amazing thing about the gymnastics star is it’s not her first time with a perfect score on the bars. She got a perfect 10 when she was at LIU–earning the first perfect 10 in LIU gymnastics history, as well. That was on March 6th, 2022. Before Friday evening, she had the best bars score in Missouri gymnastics history–when she posted a 9.975 at Georgia on January 20th, 2024.

She’s already racked up an extensive number of accolades during her gymnastics career. A native of the Netherlands, Titarsolej is currently a senior for the Missouri Tigers. It’s clear that the bars are her best event, but she still has posted a career highs of 9.875 at a LIU Quad Meet for the balance beam. And in 2021, she posted a career-high of 9.800 for her floor routine at another LIU Quad Meet.

Titarsolej is enjoying an impressive senior campaign in Columbia. She logged a 9.825 on the bars and balance beam in her debut for the Missouri Tigers on January 6th. Her 9.875 that she posted on bars helped Missouri to their second-best team score in the event in program history against the LSU Tigers (January 26th).

A perfect 10 has always been well within her grasp in the bars competition. As a junior at LIU (2023), she produced nine routines of 9.900 or higher on the bars, reaching that mark in all of her first eight meets. The European star also earned regular season second team All-American honors from the WCGA in 2023.

Even as a freshman at LIU in 2021, the gymnastics prodigy posted a 9.900 on the bars during her first college competition on February 26th. Her season-high that year on her bars routine was 9.925. She also managed to post a 9.800 on her floor routine at a LIU Quad Meet on February 28th.

Coming out of high school, she was one of the most highly decorated gymnasts in the Netherlands. She competed with the Dutch national team at the European Youth Olympic Festival (2013), World Championships (2015), European Championships (2016), and even the Dutch Olympic Trials (2016). Titarsolej placed fifth in the all-around and in the floor final in the 2016 European Championships.
