Missouri 7-foot center signee Peyton Marshall gets creative after blocking shot
Marietta (Ga.) Overtime Elite four-star center and Missouri signee Peyton Marshall continues to give Tigers fans reasons to be excited for his arrival to Columbia.
The 7-foot, 336-pounder continues to provide highlights, showing off his sheer size or impressive basketball ability. A new clip has now made waves.
In his latest game with Overtime Elite, Marshall did what he does just about every game and blocked a shot with authority. He didn’t stop there, though. After collecting the ball, instead of turning to run back down the court, Marshall noticed the player from the opposing team was still down and out of bounds, so he politely tossed him the ball for a turnover on the other team. Ingenuity at its finest:
Marshall is the No. 74 overall prospect and No. 9 center in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was previously committed to Auburn, but backed off and pledged to Missouri on Aug. 11.
“I chose Mizzou because I feel like the system that they use will help me show my game for the next level and also get me ready for it because of how they play,” Marshall told On3’s Joe Tipton upon his commitment. “Also because of the consistency in recruiting from the entire staff.”
“I would say I’m a traditional big man who’s good on both ends of the floor with outstanding passing ability,” Marshall added.

Marshall is one of five signees in Mizzou’s 2024 class, which ranks No. 10 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Headlining the class is Little Rock (Ark.) Central four-star small forward Annor Boateng, the No. 33 overall recruit and No. 13 SF in the cycle.
“I chose Missouri because of the staff,” Boateng told On3. “From my first unofficial visit, they showed that they wanted the best for me. (Dennis) Gates runs a great program over in Missouri and I know I’ll be in good hands.”
He’s joined by Miami Norland four-star SF Marcus Allen, Marshall, Houston Pro-Vision Academy four-star center Trent Burns and Edmond (Okla.) Link Academy three-star combo guard T.O. Barrett.
Marshall does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
