4-star WR Courtney Crutchfield commits to Missouri

Pine Bluff (Ark.) four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield is crossing state lines to play his college football. On Tuesday, the dynamic wide receiver committed to Missouri over his home-state school Arkansas.
He chose the Tigers following his decommitment from the in-state Razorbacks on Nov. 4.
“It was a tough decision to make and not to go to Arkansas, but sometimes things are tough and you have to make tough decisions,” he told On3. “I had to look at the big picture and that is why I chose Missouri.”
The 6-foot-0, 170-pounder now joins his Pine Bluff teammate, three-star running back Austyn Dendy, in the fold in Columbia. He is also the Tigers third and latest commit out of the Natural State, alongside Dendy and Jonesboro Valley View four-star linebacker Brian Huff.
Relationships, Tigers’ persistent efforts paid off
The Tigers got in early on Crutchfield, and even though he was at one time an Arkansas commit, Eli Drinkwitz and his staff never gave up.
“Missouri was the first SEC school to offer me and they have been with me throughout the entire process,” he added. “They offered me after my junior season, and Coach Al Davis has been recruiting me hard, too.”

Having Dendy there, as well as the relationships he has built in Columbia, have made it feel like a place he can succeed at.
“I have visited Missouri twice and the official visit was a nice visit for me and my family,” he said. “I spent time with the coaches and really felt the love. The people at Missouri made me feel right at home. The coaches are cool, they are fun to be around, and I like the program. They are winning, they throw the ball a lot and it is a good place for me.”
Crutchfield is the No. 93 overall prospect and No. 20 wideout in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Arkansas.
