Flopping is typically reserved for soccer and basketball. However, Missouri receiver Luther Burden had a flop attempt of his own during the first half of Saturday’s game against Kansas State.

Burden was back returning a punt just before halftime when he was bumped by a couple of Wildcats players.

He responded by wildly throwing his hands into the air and falling down, as if he took a hard hit. You can watch the play below:

While the flop attempt by Luther Burden wasn’t the best, he did have an impressive first half against the Wildcats.

He caught two passes for 63 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown to get the Tigers on the board. As of early in the third quarter, Burden led Missouri with four catches for 86 yards.

The sophomore signed with Missouri as a five-star prospect in the class of 2022 and immediately made a contribution.

As a freshman last season, Burden appeared in all 13 games and made 10 starts. He finished his freshman season with 45 catches for 375 yards and five touchdowns. Burden also rushed for two scores and returned a punt for a touchdown.

The On3 Industry rankings tabbed Burden as the top receiver in the class of 2022 and the No. 3 overall player in the class.

Missouri QB Brady Cook diagnosed with right knee sprain, will attempt to play through injury

Missouri starting quarterback Brady Cook got off to a fast start, including connecting with Luther Burden for a long ball. However, he went down with an injury during the second quarter of the matchup with Kansas State.

Cook left the game momentarily, before reentering.

He has a right knee sprain, according to Alyssa Lang of the SEC Network. Lang spoke with Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz at halftime and relayed what he had to say.

“He should be okay but he’s dealing with a right knee sprain,” Lang said of Cook after talking with Drinkwitz. “You see that sleeve over his right knee throughout warmups, he’s still been jogging around on it, making sure that leg feels good, that balance feels good. Just something I saw buckling at times over in the second quarter before we went to halftime as he was getting worked on it. But one thing is consistent; he is not going to get dragged out of this game if he can help it. He wants to be out there. He wants to compete with his team.”

Missouri and Kansas State have been playing a back-and-forth game all afternoon. As of midway through the third quarter, the two teams were tied.
