Missouri’s best year in recent memory on the football field is paying dividends on the recruiting trail.

Nevada (Mo.) three-star offensive back Talan Chandler has flipped his commitment from Colorado to the in-state Tigers.

“First off, I would like to say thank you to the University of Colorado and all of the coaching staff for the unbelievable opportunity they gave me and the love they showed. Coach Prime and the recruiting staff, the support you showed me and my family was amazing and I appreciate it. Coach O’Boyle, I am forever grateful for the opportunity you gave me and the support you have showed. I will always hold CU in a special place in my heart. With that being said I have decided change my commitment in order to accomplish a lifelong dream,” Chandler wrote in his announcement.

…The University of Missouri has always been my dream school and I never thought I would have the opportunity to stay HOME. This opportunity was recently offered to me and after careful consideration and prayer, this is an opportunity that I have to take for me and my family. I am committed to the University of Missouri.”

Chandler had previously been committed to the Buffaloes since early February, when he chose them over offers from Eastern Michigan and UNLV. The Show-Me State native has remained in contact with the Tigers though, and he visited for Missouri’s 36-7 win over Tennessee last weekend.

Chandler is the No. 1116 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 102 interior offensive lineman and the No. 18 recruit in Missouri.

The 6-foot-3, 292-pounder is the 15th commitment for the Tigers this cycle, joining a class headlined by Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri out of Lee’s Summit (Mo.). Other top commits for the Tigers include: Jonesboro (Ark.) Valley View four-star linebacker Brian Huff, Collierville (Tenn.) three-star quarterback Aidan Glover, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star wide receiver James Madison II and Panama City (Fla.) A. Crawford Mosley three-star cornerback Cameron Keys.

Chandler becomes the fifth Missouri native to pledge to Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers, alongside Nwaneri, Washington three-star offensive tackle Ryan Jostes, Joplin three-star tight end Whit Hafer and Saint Louis Francis Howell three-star linebacker Jude James. Chandler joins Jostes as the only offensive linemen in Mizzou’s class.
