The Missouri Tigers won one of their first two games during the first two weeks of the college football season. The team has decided to inject a little bit more juice and enthusiasm for Saturday’s matchup by unveiling a new lid for the Tigers. Take a look at the new yellow helmets with the word “Tigers” spelled out in white.

The helmets definitely look better with the yellow gloves and the yellow pants, that’s for sure. It’ll be something different for Missouri fans to get excited about this weekend.

Missouri fans can’t wait to watch another one of the highest rated prospects in program history

In Week 1, the Tigers throttled the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 52-24. One of the highest rated recruits in Missouri football history, Luther Burden, scored a touchdown in his first game. He is without a doubt, the highest rated prospect to call Columbia home since Dorial Green Beckham.

Like Beckham, Burden was rated as a five-star plus prospect and the No. 1 overall receiver in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2022 cycle. Although he didn’t do much against the Kansas State Wildcats last weekend, Burden is going to be must see TV every time he steps on the football field. It’s only a matter of time before the electrifying superstar begins stuffing the stat sheet.

His head coach Eli Drinkwitz recently talked about how he plans to get his gifted wideout more touches and that makes obvious sense, considering his tantalizing talent as a prospect. He landed on On3’s Preseason True Freshman All-American Team.

Missouri recently had to convert former Miami defensive back Marcus Clarke to a walk-on, due to the fact that they didn’t have any more scholarships, according to Eli Drinkwitz. He started four games with the Hurricanes last season.

Missouri will square off against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff time is slated for noon EST.
