Missouri Tigers men’s basketball forward Aidan Shaw has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced via social media on Tuesday. He averaged 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists for the SEC program, who made the NCAA Tournament, during the 2024-25 season.

“I would like to sincerely express my gratitude to the Mizzou staff for the opportunity to play at the University of Missouri,” Shaw posted on X. “Over the past three years, I have had truly remarkable experiences filled with unforgettable moments. I am incredibly grateful for the amazing fans and the wonderful individuals I’ve encountered along this journey.

“Although it is a difficult decision, I believe it is important to prioritize my future. After careful consideration and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. Thank you, Mizzou, for everything.”

Shaw played high school basketball at Blue Valley (Stilwell, KS), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 59 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

This past season, Missouri was on an impressive run. However, they finished with a bit of a sputter. They lost five of their final seven games before the NCAA Tournament, and they were quickly disposed of during the Round of 64, falling to the Drake Bulldogs. Shaw did not play in the 10-point loss.

Still, it was a successful season for the Tigers, who went 22-12 in the end, winning 10 games inside the SEC. Moving forward, they’re hoping a foundation has been laid for future success, and they can make a further run in the NCAA Tournament next season.

As for Aidan Shaw, we’ll see where he ends up, and if he has more success during the 2025-26 season. Teams like Kansas, Oklahoma State and Iowa were in the mix for him during his recruitment, and we’ll see if they reach out this time around.
