The world of NIL can be a beautiful place when creativity combines with excellent marketing. Missouri freshman wide receiver Luther Burden was one of the most highly sought-after prospects in America coming out of high school, so it’s no surprise to see him land a NIL deal. Just a few days after Texas Longhorns’ star running back Bijan Robinson unveiled his own mustard, Burden revealed his own potato chip line. He made a deal with Old Vienna, a St. Louis company that makes potato chips. The company is releasing their special edition–a Honey Barbeque flavor of their Red Hot Riplets–with Burden’s image and autograph on every bag this month.

Check them out.

If interested, fans can get the potato chips at Schnucks, a grocery store chain in Missouri.

Outside of his potato chip deal, Burden is one of the most electrifying receivers in the country and figures to be a dominant force for the Missouri Tigers for the next few seasons. He landed on On3’s 2022 Preseason True Freshman All-American Team.

Charles Power–On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings recently gave a breakdown on Burden when he wrote about him for the Preseason True Freshman All-American Team. “Luther Burden was a landmark recruiting win for Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri. The Five-Star Plus+ pass-catcher had a monster senior year at East St. Louis (Ill.) High, catching 71 passes for 1,174 yards and 20 touchdowns in addition to returning eight of 21 fielded punts for scores. He backed that up with a strong showing as On3’s top receiver at the Under Armour All-America Game in January. Burden has a well-rounded skill set and is particularly strong after the catch. He’s a natural with the ball in his hands and has excellent spatial awareness along with the ability to force missed tackles. We expect Missouri to get him the ball in a variety of ways as a freshman. Burden finished as the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver in the 2022 On3 Consensus.”

It’s going to be exciting to see not only what NIL deals Burden can pile up, but the electrifying plays he’s going to make on the football field in just a few short weeks.
