Missouri guard Tre Gomillion is 'doubtful' for Iowa State game
Missouri hoops may be down one of their rotation players today against No. 12 Iowa State, who they’re hosting as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. According to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Tiger guard Tre Gomillion is doubtful to play vs. the Cyclones. Here was that report, which Rothstein tweeted:
“Missouri’s Tre Gomillion (groin) is doubtful for today’s game against Iowa State, per a school spokesman. Averages 5.3 PPG. Has not played since 1/21.”
Gomillion missed Missouri’s mid-week victory in Oxford over Ole Miss and looks unlikely to play again today. The senior guard plays just over 18 minutes a game this season and has been with head coach Dennis Gates going back to his time at Cleveland State. Not a massive loss for the Tigers, but Gomillion’s absence will certainly create less depth in the backcourt for Gates.
Dennis Gates praises unlikely heroes for Ole Miss win
Missouri got back into the win column on Tuesday night with an 89-77 victory over Ole Miss, staving off a late Rebels run to seal the deal. After the game, Dennis Gates had two player in particular to praise.

“I credit two guys. I credit Mohamed Diarra. And I credit Kaleb Brown,” Gates said. “I thought both those runs, Mo was able to get second-chance rebounds and kick-outs and even layups. But Kaleb being able to impact the game for the five minutes that he played was able to get two big assists, but also two steals on the defensive end, and he was just in the right place. So I credit him as well, for those times.
“I think our guys, and we knew they wasn’t going to go away, I just thought our guys were able to settle back in, create opportunities for each other and not panic,” Gates said.
Some of the Tigers’ depth in the front-court really showed out when their numbers were called. They could need another big performance from them today against Iowa State.
