Marcus Allen was one of five freshmen who signed on to come to CoMo in the last recruiting cycle. He’s now the first of those to end his time with Missouri. Allen has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. That comes after just one season spent with the Tigers.

Allen appeared in 26 games off the bench this year for Mizzou. In those games, he averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Allen, a Miami native, played high school basketball at Norland. He was the No. 74 overall recruit as a four-star prospect in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as the No. 25 SF in the class and the No. 12 player out of the state of Florida. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With that, Allen was the second highest-rated signee out of five for Missouri in a Top-15 class in ’24. He came to Columbia alongside fellow four-stars in Annor Boateng, Peyton Marshall, and Trent Burns as well as a three-star T.O. Barrett as he actually played the most of all of them.

Allen is now the second departure during this portal cycle for Missouri. Aidan Shaw entered after his junior season with him since having committed to Boston College in the process after putting his name in. Allen was one of the top freshmen in the last recruiting class and a leading addition last offseason for Missouri. However, he’ll be headed elsewhere now as his career continues, though, with his entry into the portal today.
